Summary
Ketju does not approve USDT0: its deployed contract on Ink Chain can block addresses and destroy their funds, its Terms of Service disclose no such power, and it adds risk to USDT without adding any benefit. USDT0 is Tether's omnichain USDT, built on LayerZero's OFT standard and operated by Everdawn Labs Limited. Canonical USDT locks in an Ethereum adapter contract, and USDT0 mints 1:1 on the destination chain. USDT0 carries every issuer and jurisdiction risk of USDT. It adds an operator whose corporate tie to Tether is assumed and not confirmed, and it depends on LayerZero's DVN messaging layer, which Ketju does not approve. The right to redeem depends on Tether's "verified customer" requirement and is not a permissionless unlock. A USDT0 holder therefore has less certainty of redemption than a direct USDT holder.
Review triggers
- Everdawn Labs' corporate relationship to Tether Limited is confirmed by a primary filing or by Tether's own disclosure
- USDT0's Terms of Service are amended to disclose the blacklist and fund-destruction authority in the deployed contract code
- An OFT deployment on a named chain is audited independently of Tether's and LayerZero's own claims, and the report is published
- A proposed-size redemption from burned USDT0 to unlocked Ethereum USDT is shown end to end for an unaffiliated holder without Tether's verified-customer requirement
- Any confirmed depeg, minting irregularity or DVN-layer compromise affecting USDT0 itself
