Osero asks Sky to let its operators open a 650,000 USDC daily vault deposit limit
On-chain events · · Ketju Research
Affects: Sky (protocol)
What happened
Stablewatch asked Sky to register a starting BeamState rate limit for deposits to Osero's Gauntlet USDC Prime vault in the Oct. 22 Sky Core spell.
What changed
The registration would let the existing Osero Operator Multisig turn on a 650,000 USDC-a-day deposit rate through the Configurator, without another Osero spell. Osero's phase conditions would remain operating rules, and no contract would check them.
What did not change
Registration would not change the active deposit limit by itself. The proposal does not show approval or execution. It does not show that the operator raised the rate.
Confirmed
- The proposed starting limit is a 5 million USDC maximum and a 650,000 USDC-a-day rate.
- The request covers the Osero RateLimits contract at 0xE9a78f34fe497e2186f81B8c014cd93B308BC62a and one vault deposit key.
- The proposal states that no contract enforces the phase conditions after registration.
- The proposal warns that the operator could use a starting limit to restore deposits after an emergency set them to zero, unless Sky removes the limit or unpairs the operator.
Still open
- The risk adviser has not confirmed again, the Atlas has not changed and the Oct. 22 spell has not included the request.
- The cached proposal does not show that the earlier spell adding the vault executed.
- Any later operator action and the live rate limit need separate checks.
What it means for an advisor
- Check how the Sky memo covers operators who can turn on rate limits, and phase conditions that only the operators enforce.
- Note in the memo that an emergency stop must also remove the starting limits or unpair the operator, because setting the active limit to zero is not enough.
